Anti Bullying Week

Anti Bullying Week

John Mailer19 Nov 2014 - 10:58

nti-Bullying Week is an annual event which this year runs from the 17-21 November 2014. This year’s theme is ‘Let’s stop bullying for all’

Berks & Bucks FA supports Anti-Bullying Week 2014. This year’s theme is ‘Let’s stop bullying for all’. Alongside promoting Anti-Bullying messages within all areas of children’s activity this year the Anti-Bullying Alliance are focusing specifically on raising awareness of bullying targeted towards Disabled Children and those with Special Education Needs. Research tells us that these children, of which many engage within football, are significantly more likely to experience bullying than those who are not disabled and don’t have a special education need.

Within football we encourage all of our affiliated clubs to sign up to The FA’s comprehensive Anti -Bullying Policy which provides clubs with a downloadable template policy and also provides guidance on

• Signs and indicators of Bullying.
• Types of Bullying including Discrimination and Online Bullying
• organisations that can provide help and support on Bullying to both parents and young people

In light of the above the FA is currently updating the guidance for parents, carers and young people' within The FA Anti-Bullying Policy
