United kicked off in Feltham playing into the wind and as the half progressed into driving rain. A change of formation from the previous outing saw Woodley having better shape, enjoy a productive opening quarter hour with Ramone Rose lively on the left wing but three times penalised for off-sides.
Defending at corner kicks was vastly better as witnessed with the hosts forcing a number of corners in quick succession up to the twenty minute mark that either keeper Jake Simpson or the defence managed despite PFC Victoria having the benefit of the elements to inswing the kicks.
Woodley’s best chance of the half was on twenty five minutes play that saw Ben Anderson make a powerful run down the right wing and cross the ball low into the home goal area only for it to evade the oncoming United players and defence.
The opening goal came in the twenty ninth minute with Woodley failing to clear a ball on the halfway line that allowed the hosts to attack down their left side. Faced with a one on one situation with Simpson the winger squared the ball to Oliwier Kaczmarek to score from eight yards.
This saw Kaczmarek enjoy a lively fifteen minute spell that causes the visitors problems but a combination of defending and his poor finishing saw the score remain one-nil at half time.
Both teams had opportunities to score soon after the restart with Anderson shooting wide, a PFC hitting the post following Simpson parrying the ball and the PFC keeper Milan Czerwonka also parrying the ball, as the surface became greasy, and seeing it cleared to safety.
Good play by Rose saw Anderson fail to capitalise on a goalscoring opportunity, Czerwonka pushed Dylan Clark’s shot away for the corner kick and then deal with Anderson’s shot after a pass by Clark all in the opening twelve minutes of the second half.
However, this good work was undone on the sixty second minute when a run and low cross from PFC’s left was parried by Simpson and substitute Tymoteusz Supernak reacted quickest to score.
A change of formation to 3-5-2 saw Woodley remained positive with Anderson, Clark and Rose involved in much of the attacking play that saw balls either cleared to safety or corners conceded. The best opportunity of the half came in the eighty fifth minute when Anderson broke down his left and squared the ball only to see it go behind the oncoming Rose and Matteo Giacobbe.
As full time approached, the game became fragmented with PFC Victoria running the clock down by being slow to restart the game at goal kicks and throw ins as they eased themselves to the win.
